About the College of Business and Department of Management and Technology
The College of Business (COB) at ERAU-W is committed to providing innovative and relevant education to students, with a strong emphasis on the application of business concepts to aviation and other industries. The Department of Management and Technology (DM&T) is one of the three departments within the COB, housing a range of undergraduate and graduate programs, including the new M.S. in Airline Management degree. Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Faculty of the Practice, Airline Management to join the COB and DM&T. As a Faculty of the Practice, you will have the opportunity to share your industry expertise and experience with students, while contributing to the development and delivery of high-quality education in airline management. This is a remote position, offering you the flexibility to work from anywhere, with a typical teaching load of 24 credit hours per academic year. You will be responsible for teaching graduate and undergraduate airline management courses, developing and assessing courses, and updating curricula as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach graduate and undergraduate airline management courses with a specific focus on the new M.S. in Airline Management degree
- Develop, maintain, and assess courses to ensure high-quality education and relevance to the industry
- Update curricula as needed and assigned, to reflect changes in the industry and emerging trends
- Engage and mentor students from diverse backgrounds in a remote setting, providing support and guidance to ensure their success
- Participate in department, college, and university meetings and events, contributing to the development of the COB and DM&T
- Travel to attend meetings and conferences, as necessary, to stay current with industry developments and network with professionals
Qualifications and Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong and diverse skillset, with a combination of industry experience, teaching expertise, and academic credentials. The essential qualifications and requirements for this position include:
- A Master's degree, professional doctorate, or Ph.D. in management, business administration, aviation, finance, accounting, or a related field from a regionally accredited university
- Strong industry experience in one or more areas of airline management, with active industry connections and a deep understanding of the aviation industry
- Teaching experience, with a clearly defined teaching philosophy and a passion for education
- Strong written and communication skills, with the ability to engage and mentor students in a remote setting
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, with a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Experience in course design and development for online course delivery, with knowledge of online learning management systems
