As a pivotal member of our team, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of Black, brown, and queer youth in Oakland, aged 8-19, by fostering a safe and supportive community that encourages bravery in writing.
At Chapter 510 Ink, we believe that writing is an act of liberation. Our mission is to empower every young person in Oakland to write with confidence and joy. Through our vibrant writing center and partnerships with Oakland public schools, we provide a range of programs that help young people improve their writing craft, confidence, and competency. As a High School Teaching Artist, you will be instrumental in delivering our creative writing workshops and program offerings, working closely with educators to create a transformative experience for our students.

Chapter 510 Ink is located in downtown Oakland, and staff are required to work on-site much of the time. Our work environment is collaborative, inclusive, and supportive, valuing intersectionality and diversity. This is a non-exempt, hourly role with a competitive rate of $50/hour DOE. You will also accrue sick leave. We offer a rewarding work environment with opportunities for professional growth and development.
