About the Role: Legal Transcriptionist
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Legal Transcriptionist to join our team in Atlanta, GA. As a remote member of our team, you will play a critical role in providing accurate and timely transcription services to our clients. Scope of Responsibilities:
- Accurate verbatim transcription and editing of legal hearings/drafts from digital recordings, ensuring high-quality output and meeting specific deadlines for completion of transcripts.
- Utilize your exceptional attention to detail, active listening, and reading comprehension skills to deliver precise and error-free transcripts.
- Effectively communicate with clients and team members to ensure seamless collaboration and address any concerns or questions.
- Maintain proficiency in Microsoft Word and other relevant software applications to efficiently complete tasks and stay up-to-date with industry developments.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum typing speed of 65 words per minute (wpm) with a minimum accuracy of 95% to ensure efficient and accurate transcription.
- Excellent attention to detail, active listening, and reading comprehension skills to deliver high-quality transcripts.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with clients and team members.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and other relevant software applications.
- Must be proficient in the English language and have a good ear for foreign/regional accents to accurately transcribe diverse recordings.
- Two (2) years of experience as a word processor or transcriptionist, with a strong understanding of legal terminology and procedures.
- Must pass Government Clearance through the Office of Personnel Management, which includes but is not limited to a criminal background check, reference checks, and drug screening as required by the client.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with legal transcription software and platforms.
- Familiarity with court reporting procedures and protocols.
- Strong understanding of legal terminology and procedures.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
