The Role: Leading Innovation in Medical NLP and Machine Learning
As a Machine Learning Science Manager at Abridge, you will play a pivotal role in advancing the state of the art in medical NLP, driving research initiatives, and leading a team of research scientists. Your technical expertise, fluency in statistics and deep learning, and passion for the medical domain will be instrumental in shaping our products and research direction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and Manage Research Team: Oversee a team of research scientists, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to foster their growth and ensure the success of research projects.
- Advance Medical NLP: Drive the advancement of medical NLP, focusing on areas such as conversation summarization, evidence extraction, outcome prediction, evaluation techniques, and experimentation.
- Contribute Research: Actively contribute to the wider research community by sharing and publishing original research, and encourage team members to do the same.
- Define and Develop Solutions: Collaborate with the team to define important problems, identify appropriate baselines, develop state-of-the-art methods, and integrate them into production.

Essential Qualifications:
- Demonstrated expertise through papers and advanced graduate degrees in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent experience.
