As a close-knit team of 20, we're now looking for a talented YouTube Video Creator & Platform Specialist to join our marketing team and help shape the future of podcasting.
About the Role
As a YouTube Platform Specialist, you'll be responsible for creating engaging video content, managing our YouTube channel, and optimizing our video strategy to reach a wider audience. This is a unique opportunity to combine your passion for video creation, marketing, and community management to drive success for our brand.
Key Responsibilities
- Video Creation:
- Develop and write video scripts that perform well on YouTube
- Film and star in videos that showcase your personality and expertise
- Edit video projects to ensure high-quality production
- Create thumbnails, write titles, descriptions, and tags for each video
- Publish videos to the Buzzsprout YouTube channel and manage contractors for YouTube Shorts
- Marketing & Content Creation:
- Establish and report on key performance indicators for our YouTube channel
- Collaborate with the Head of Marketing to create and maintain the content calendar
- Optimize videos to reach the largest audience possible on YouTube
- Stay up-to-date on YouTube trends, best practices, and new products
- Optimize our back catalog of over 300 videos to revitalize stale content
- Community Management:
- Develop channel community and moderation guidelines
- Engage viewers in video comments and in the Community Tab
- Moderate comments to foster a friendly and helpful community
- Run live streams, giveaways, and other special events as applicable
Essential Qualifications & Skill Sets
We're looking for someone with a passion for creating engaging video content and a deep understanding of the YouTube algorithm. While we don't require a specific degree or certification, you'll need:
- Experience running a YouTube channel and working with YouTube creators
- A deep understanding of YouTube optimizations and the YouTube algorithm
- Experience with the entire production of YouTube videos from start to finish
- Graphic design experience, including creating YouTube thumbnails
- Strong time-management and project-management skills
- Excellent writing and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, experience creating a podcast and using Buzzsprout is a plus. You'll also benefit from having a strong understanding of the podcasting industry and a passion for helping creators succeed.

Travel Considerations
While this is a remote-first position, we believe in the importance of team bonding and collaboration. As such, you'll be expected to travel to:
- Jacksonville, Florida, 4-6 times a year
- The Buzzsprout Christmas party in December
- One yearly Buzzsprout meetup
- Up to two podcast conferences each year as needed
All travel expenses will be paid by Buzzsprout, so you can focus on building meaningful connections with your colleagues.
