About the Role
As a Part-Time Remote Data Entry Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of patient data entry, resolving third-party issues, and providing top-notch customer service. Working under direct supervision, you will adhere to guideline working methods and perform obligations according to Walgreens' policies and procedures. Your responsibilities will include utilizing pharmacy systems to obtain patient and medication information, handling patient medication requests, and troubleshooting data entry-related exceptions.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Entry and Patient Enrollment: Using Walgreens' prescription data entry techniques and guidelines, process new patient enrollment by entering data into the appropriate system, handle patient medication requests within HIPAA guidelines, and enter refill orders for processing.
- Patient Communication: Handle correspondence to patients (inbound calls, chats, emails) and make outbound calls to prescribers and patients on a case-by-case basis to resolve issues or provide information.
- Third-Party Issue Resolution: Investigate, gather information, make corrections, and resubmit claims for processing according to individual plan requirements. Make phone calls to support plans and others to obtain information, gain override approval, or otherwise resolve third-party issues.
- Support for Pharmacists: Provide assistance to pharmacists, both in-office and at other locations, and identify and communicate issues to senior-level staff as appropriate.
- Professional Development: Acquire and maintain an active professional license or certification within the first 90 days of employment and keep it active throughout your tenure.
Essential Qualifications and Skills
To succeed in this role, you must possess:
- Basic Computer Skills: Ability to start up and shut down a computer, use a mouse to point and click, start and close programs, switch between programs, save files, print documents, and access data online.
- Basic Web Browsing Skills: Ability to open a browser, type in URLs in the correct location, use a search engine, bookmark a webpage, navigate using back/forward/stop buttons, and complete forms online.
- Intermediate Keyboarding Skills: At least 25 WPM, typing by memory, and arranging documents.
- Effective Communication: Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
- Bachelor's Degree: A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
While not mandatory, the following qualifications and skills are highly preferred:
- Pharmacy Experience: At least one year of pharmacy experience in a retail or call center environment.
