More information can be found here: Minimum Qualifications Two years of experience in the care of animals; the general care of crops, shrubs, or plants; or farm-related equipment and machinery operation; OR Twelve semester hours in an agricultural field. Job Duties and Other Information Job Duties: As a Research Farm Specialist 1, you will provide journeyman level support of research at the Northeast Research Station. In this role, you will: • Adjusts, operates, and maintains specialized equipment used in research to establish, maintain, and harvest research plots with a high level of precision. (65%) • Mixes chemicals according to instruction on container label. Administers insecticides and fertilizers. (20%) • Performs other duties as assigned. (15%) Position-Specific Details: • Appointment Type: This position does not participate in a Career Progression Group. • Work Schedule: 40 hours per week, M-F, with the potential for some weekend work during harvest season. • Compensation: The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience. • Location: Northeast Research Station, St. Joseph, La. • This position is not eligible for remote employment.
