Job Summary
We are looking for a qualified and experienced Adult Ed Hourly Teacher - English as a Second Language (ESL) Online to teach English language skills to adult learners in an online setting. As a teacher in our program, you will be responsible for preparing and delivering competency-based ESL instruction to equip adult students with language and cultural proficiencies. You will work collaboratively with our team to develop and align ESL curriculum, integrate language acquisition within the context of college and career readiness, and facilitate student use of technology and blended learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and deliver competency-based ESL instruction to adult learners in an online setting
- Develop and align ESL curriculum that enables student progress from ESL Literacy through ESL Advanced High
- Integrate language acquisition within the context of college and career readiness
- Facilitate student use of technology and blended learning
- Monitor student progress and assess student learning outcomes
- Complete and submit all required data and accountability documentation in a timely manner
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement program goals and objectives
Essential Qualifications
- Valid non-emergency California teaching credential authorizing instruction to adults in the subject area (Community college credential is not acceptable)
- Demonstrated knowledge and teaching experience with adult students focusing on course planning, instruction, student assessment, and evaluation
- Ability to develop and present lessons that include a variety of innovative communicative activities
- Ability to facilitate blended learning and integrate technology into instruction
- Master's degree in TESOL, Linguistics, or a related field preferred
- TESOL certificate desirable

- Experience with adult education and ESL instruction
- Knowledge of College and Career Readiness Standards and ESL Model Standards
- Experience with curriculum development and alignment
- Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with colleagues

Compensation and Benefits
