Job Overview
As a Data Analytics Intern at Poshmark, you'll play a critical role in providing analytics support and data insights to various teams across the organization. Key Responsibilities
- Provide data-driven insights that lead to actionable business recommendations for key stakeholders in a simple, clear, and compelling manner
- Understand and meet the analytics needs of various teams on a continual basis, ensuring that data insights are timely, relevant, and impactful
- Monitor existing metrics, analyze data, and partner with internal team members to identify opportunities for improvement and optimize business performance
- Perform exploratory data analysis to identify trends, patterns, correlations, and insights that inform business strategy and drive growth
- Develop new or improve existing key metrics and performance indicators to evaluate business performance, and work with the Data Engineering team to implement the data collection needed
- Think and work independently, demonstrating creativity, and delivering quick results, while maintaining a team-player attitude and collaborating with cross-functional teams
- Maintain required documentation to ensure an inventory of all key findings from trends and growth opportunities, and perform extensive QA to ensure the quality and integrity of data
Requirements and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you'll need to have a strong foundation in analytics, as well as excellent technical, business, and interpersonal skills. Here are some of the key requirements and qualifications we're looking for:
Technical Skills
- Expert knowledge of SQL and MS Excel, with the ability to write complex queries and analyze large datasets
- Exposure and familiarity with Python, R, Spark SQL, and other programming languages, with a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies
- Understanding of data modeling concepts and experience partnering on building new DW tables, with a focus on data warehousing and business intelligence
- Hands-on data visualization experience through Looker or comparable platforms, with the ability to create interactive and dynamic dashboards
- Knowledge of basic statistical concepts, including statistical hypothesis testing (t-tests, z-tests, etc.), and experience with A/B and multivariate testing
Soft Skills
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving attitude, with the ability to break down complex problems into manageable components
- Detail-oriented and expert in both qualitative and quantitative analysis, with a passion for delivering actionable insights to key stakeholders
- Experience creating presentations in MS PowerPoint or similar tools, with the ability to communicate complex data insights to non-technical audiences
