Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our Acute Neurology team at our Stanwood, Michigan location. As a full-time night shift RN, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care to individuals with complex neurological conditions, including traumatic brain injuries, strokes, and neurosurgical patients. Our team is committed to delivering compassionate and evidence-based care, and we are looking for a skilled and dedicated RN to join our team.
Key Responsibilities
- Provides evidence-based nursing care consistent with the interprofessional plan of care and in accordance with health system policies, procedures, and ANA/regulatory standards
- Communicates and collaborates with other members of the healthcare team to ensure continuity and coordination of care
- Acts as a patient/family advocate and provides emotional support and education to patients and their families
- Performs point of care testing as required and documents results accurately and timely
- Demonstrates a high standard of moral, ethical, and culturally sensitive behavior and adheres to the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses
- Assesses the overall needs of the patient/family and analyzes the assessment data to identify potential diagnoses or issues
- Develops and implements an individualized interprofessional plan of care that recommends strategies to achieve outcomes in accordance with the ANA Standards of Practice
- Evaluates patient and family educational needs and employs appropriate teaching strategies while continually evaluating progress toward achievement of goals/outcomes
Essential Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree of Science in Nursing must be obtained within 5 years
- Successful completion of a competency-based orientation program required
- State of Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) License required upon hire
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in acute neurology or a related field
- Certification in neuroscience nursing (CNRN) or a related specialty
- Experience with electronic medical records and other healthcare technology
- Ability to speak multiple languages, with a focus on languages spoken in the local community
