Job Summary

The Scheduler Coder Analyst position is a multifaceted role that requires a unique blend of technical, analytical, and communication skills. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for reviewing, developing, maintaining, and reporting surgical information, as well as managing the charge description master (CDM) on both the surgical system and the hospital-wide billing system. Your expertise will be essential in maintaining the Renown South Meadows EPIC files, bill-only processes, and training staff on EPIC and EPIC super user teaching.

Key Responsibilities

• Schedule surgical cases through direct contact with surgeons or their office staff, ensuring accurate and efficient scheduling processes.
• Maintain the automated scheduling of all surgical cases, implementing automated processes where appropriate.
• Develop and maintain the presentation of required data, ensuring accuracy and understandability.
• Design procedures, perform analysis, and develop the presentation of required data, ensuring the information is accurate and understandable.
• Train staff on EPIC and EPIC super user teaching, including scheduling, coding, and charging of cases, print functions, and preference card maintenance.
• Maintain the South Meadows Surgical Services EPIC systems file, including staff, procedures, supplies, privileges, and preference cards.
• Ensure high standards of professionalism, communication, performance, and respect for confidentiality, adhering to HIPAA laws and maintaining patient privacy.

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications:

• Working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking.
• An associate's degree in business administration or computer science is preferred, although accounting experience is not required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology is required, and experience with microcomputer spreadsheet applications, computer programming, and/or system analysis is essential.
• A minimum of one year of experience in a hospital or physician's office setting, with surgical scheduling experience preferred.
• Computer skills necessary to complete online learning requirements, access online forms and policies, and complete online benefits enrollment.
