**Overview:** The Equine and Nemo Farm Animal Hospital is seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) to join our team in the Operating Room. As a key member of our surgical team, you will provide high-quality technical support to equine and farm animal patients, their owners and referring veterinarians, as well as clinicians, other staff, and students. **Responsibilities:** • Work closely with surgeons, anesthesiology, imaging, and other members of the surgical team to provide a safe and comfortable environment for patients • Assist in the management of the daily flow of surgeries, including communication across services, preparation of surgery rooms, and assisting with anesthetic inductions, patient positioning, surgical clipping, and preparation • Assist surgeons, surgery house staff, and students with scheduled and emergency surgical procedures • Act as a circulating technician during procedures • Maintain and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions during surgical procedures • Ensure patient charges are complete and accurate in the Hospital's Information System • *Qualifications:** • Associates degree in Veterinary Technology from an AVMA-accredited institution or equivalent experience, plus New York State Licensure or eligibility to be licensed • At least 1 year of relevant experience, preferably in an OR setting • Excellent communication, team building, and organizational skills • Ability to work with multiple large animal species, including equine and bovine • Ability to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment, paying close attention to details • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, including stressful situations, prolonged standing and kneeling, lifting and restraining animals that may exceed 50 pounds • *Benefits:** • Great benefits, including comprehensive health care options, access to wellness programs, employee discounts with local and national retail brands, generous retirement contributions, and impressive educational benefits • 3 weeks of paid vacation and 13 additional holiday days with 2 additional floating holidays • Award-winning employer-provided benefits program • Opportunities for professional development and advancement • A supportive and collaborative work environment with a team of dedicated professionals
