About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Logistics Yard Coordinator at our Target Distribution Center. As a Logistics Yard Coordinator, you will be responsible for the execution of daily trailer movement within Target's Distribution Center Yards. You will foster a "safety first" culture through awareness, training, and accountability, ensuring that all drivers and personnel adhere to safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Cultivate a "safety first" culture through awareness, training, and accountability
- Work with carriers to ensure they follow all safety assumptions and maintain a safe workplace for all drivers
- Operate target-owned vehicles to execute yard review schedules, which may involve traveling to an offsite yard depending on the facility location
- Ensure the yard management system is updated to reflect the current status of all trailers in the yard
- Guarantee all trailers are received by the current standard operating procedures
- Communicate effectively with all DC managers regarding trailer requirements, movement, and progress
- Monitor trailer releases to ensure trailers meet scheduled deliveries to stores and be responsible for the accountability of all Target equipment
- Conduct trailer inventories and ensure that equipment is available for preventive maintenance checks
- Collaborate with First Mile Transportation to monitor trailer pools and cargo flow instability, ensuring our yards remain within capacity and safe
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications:
- High School degree or equivalent
- Valid driver's license or ability to obtain one
- At least 18 years old or older
- Demonstrated ability to multitask
- Experience working in a high-volume, high-traffic environment
- Direct experience within a distribution center truck yard or traffic management preferred
- Strong oral and written communication skills
