About Amazon's Protective Services Team
Our Protective Services Team is dedicated to ensuring the safety and security of Amazon's employees, customers, and assets. We're a dynamic team of security professionals who work closely with various stakeholders, including Event Managers, production companies, Convention Center venue staff, Law Enforcement contacts, and multiple partners across our internal teams. As a Manager, Global Events, Protective Services, you'll play a critical role in managing and leading our security efforts at global events, from high-profile product launches to large-scale conferences and meetings.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide briefings and feedback to stakeholders and PS Leadership, ensuring that they're informed and up-to-date on security matters.
- Manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously, influencing, negotiating, and communicating effectively with internal business partners to drive results.
- Negotiate and manage contracted vendors and budget, ensuring that we're getting the best value for our security investments.
- Develop new plans and roadmaps in collaboration with team members and stakeholders, driving continuous improvement in our security operations.
- Build and maintain business relationships internally and with external partners, fostering a culture of collaboration and trust.
- Communicate clearly and concisely in writing and verbally, ensuring that our security messaging is consistent and effective.
- Navigate ambiguous and uncertain situations with ease, applying proactive behavior towards problem-solving and decision-making.
- Analyze key priorities, identify gaps, and create plans to close them, ensuring that we're always ahead of the curve.
- Utilize tools and standards for managing security for events, staying up-to-date on the latest technologies and best practices.
- Ensure critical timelines are met, particularly in narrow timeframes, demonstrating your ability to work under pressure.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to bring new ideas and revitalize our security program, driving innovation and growth.

Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Project Management, Communications, or a similar field, demonstrating your foundation in business principles and practices.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in Event Management, Program Management, or Business Development, showcasing your ability to manage complex projects and teams.
- Demonstrated ability to work with global teams, navigating cultural and geographical differences with ease.
- Travel is required sometimes with short and/or no-notice, demonstrating your flexibility and adaptability.
- Ability to manage competing objectives with grace in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing deadlines effectively.
- Excellent organizational skills, including prioritizing, scheduling, time management, and deadline management, ensuring that you're always on top of your work.
- 24/7 on-call availability, demonstrating your commitment to our security operations and willingness to respond to emergencies.
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA or master's degree in Business Management or a related field, demonstrating your advanced knowledge of business principles and practices.
- One or more professional certifications, such as PMP, CMP, or other comparable certifications, showcasing your expertise in project management and event planning.
- Remarkable project management skills, with a proven track record of delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
- Strong technical, analytic, and communication skills (both written and verbal), demonstrating your ability to analyze complex data and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
- Ability to articulate ideas and influence stakeholders, at ease when dealing with senior management, showcasing your confidence and leadership skills.
- Able to work in a diverse team, fostering a culture of inclusion and respect.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, as well as strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Visio, demonstrating your proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Highly self-motivated, with a proven ability to see tasks through to completion, be well-organized, and adhere to compliance with timelines and deadlines.
- High ethical standards, with a proven ability to handle highly confidential and sensitive information, demonstrating your integrity and discretion.
What We Offer
At Amazon, we're committed to providing a comprehensive compensation package that reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $83,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $170,000/year in our highest geographic market. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a range of benefits, including equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation, as well as a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits.
