Job Overview
This is a full-time position with benefits, offering a competitive salary commensurate with experience. As a Speech Language Pathologist, you'll work closely with students, teachers, and parents to identify and address speech and language disorders, developing targeted therapy programs to meet individual needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Acts as a case manager for "speech-only" case study evaluations, screening and evaluating children to identify those with speech/language disorders
- Develops and implements therapy materials and programs for school and home settings, tailored to individual needs and IEP goals
- Participates in staffing, parent-teacher conferences, teacher meetings, school open houses, and other district meetings, providing expert guidance and support
- Conducts and/or participates in Eligibility/IEP conferences, ensuring compliance with regulations and best practices
- Schedules and notifies participants of Eligibility/IEP conferences, maintaining accurate records and reports
- Maintains ethical communication and standards, upholding professional assessment standards and staying current with laws and regulations affecting special education and speech language pathology
- Provides services that are culturally responsive and sensitive to the needs of diverse students and families
- Assists with methods of curriculum instruction, adaptations, and modifications, supporting teachers and staff in meeting student needs
- Participates in district committees and professional growth opportunities, contributing to ongoing improvement and innovation
Essential Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you must possess:
- A Master's degree or higher in Speech Pathology
- Illinois Professional Educator License with Speech Language Pathologist endorsement
- 1+ year of experience in speech language pathology (preferred)
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents
- Adaptability and flexibility in work scenarios and schedules, prioritizing efforts to achieve student-focused solutions
- Ability to work collaboratively in team-oriented environments, driving student-centered outcomes
