We're seeking a highly skilled Senior IT Operations Engineer to join our team and play a crucial role in shaping our all-in-one privacy solution. As a Senior IT Operations Engineer, you will be responsible for providing exceptional IT and infrastructure support to our global team, ensuring the smooth operation of our internal infrastructure, and contributing to the overall success of DuckDuckGo.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide top-notch IT and infrastructure support to team members across the globe, ensuring seamless operations and resolving complex technical issues.
- Take ownership of critical areas that significantly impact DuckDuckGo's internal infrastructure, continuously improving and maintaining them over time.
- Administer core services such as Exchange, Entra, Office365, and other essential applications, ensuring their security and efficiency.
- Develop and implement processes and procedures for new services, including Mobile Device Management (MDM), to enhance our operational capabilities.
- Manage account responsibilities, including single sign-on (SSO) implementation, provisioning, and de-provisioning of accounts, ensuring secure access to our systems.
- Participate in an on-call rotation, triaging and resolving team member support requests in a timely and effective manner.
- Create playbooks and documentation to streamline support requests and develop automations that enhance the team experience and expedite their work.
- Review and evaluate standard procedures and practices related to team member support, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes that enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
What You Bring
To excel in this role, you should possess:
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in IT operations within a medium to large organization (500+ employees), preferably in a remote work environment.
- Significant experience administering and supporting cloud and SaaS applications, such as Office 365.
- Expertise in deploying and administrating Azure Active Directory/Entra, SSO configurations, and managing new service providers/deployments from the Identity Provider (IDP).
- Experience with deploying and managing device management (MDM) systems for both desktop and mobile devices.
- The ability to troubleshoot a wide range of operating systems, including macOS, Windows, Linux, iPhone, Android, and Office 365, remotely.
- Basic familiarity with Linux sysadmin utilities and a passion for process improvement.
- Strong critical thinking skills to tackle vague problems, propose innovative solutions, and execute them with a focus on metrics.
- Keen attention to detail and a strong desire to be responsive, proactive, and efficient in addressing support tickets.
